ANNIE KNOWS EVERYTHING
When Annie is unceremoniously laid off from her role at a NYC tech company, she cleverly lands a job in the data strategy department - except she has no coding experience and zero idea what’s she’s doing. Suddenly she’s juggling a nerdy (but surprisingly cute) boss, an endearingly quirky group of coworkers, and a frustrating family dynamic that’s more complicated by the day. If only everyone would understand that Annie is right about everything … or is she?
When the days are longer and everything is in bloom, I want a great audiobook to keep me company on spring walks. This one was so original and cheery, it made me forget I was learning a thing or two about coding! Annie is as endearingly impulsive as her boss Connor is geekily adorable, and I loved the NYC setting. Did I occasionally have trouble keeping track of their coworkers? Sure, but did I care? Not at all - this was one of those audiobooks that has you smiling while you listen, and hoping for a Netflix adaptation to keep the fun going. Really enjoyed this one!
Annie and Connor’s first impromptu semi-date is at a fictional NYC cookie bakery with a cult following, where there’s a line around the block before the doors open. This chewy, homemade version is inspired by the bakery box of cookies Annie and Connor nibble at all day. I am one of those people who asks for sprinkles on the bottom and top of froyo (anyone else?) and love a very high sprinkle:dessert ratio so these were a joy to make. Springy and colorful like this book!
