I loved this delightful book, one of the most romantic stories I’ve read in a long time! Cassia’s matchmaking agency, One & Only, is founded on the belief that everyone has one fated love - which she and the women in her tight knit Korean family can divine by reading their past lives. Despite her many successful matches, Cassia is still searching for her own “fated,” whose name she has known for a decade. But when a chance encounter throws Cassia headlong into a romance with a handsome, much younger stranger, she must choose between the fate she’s believed in forever, or an unexpected destiny that’s all her own.

This was an absolute joy! I’m all in for a romance with a smart, grown up, self-actualized MC like Cassia! Also: is there a better book boyfriend than Ellis!? 🥹 He’s as thoughtful, open and expressive as Cassia is disciplined and logical, and their romance was total perfection. The LA setting was so vivid, and Cassia’s complicated relationship with her family gave such a thoughtful counterpoint to the story’s emotional love triangle. This novel will have you questioning whether our one true love is preordained, or if we are the authors of our own love story. Bonus: it was amazing on audio!

For this book I wanted a pairing that was valentines-y, romantic, and yellow! Cassia is named for a yellow flowering plant in her late mom’s garden, and the little plot points around the cassia flowers come full circle in such a lovely way. And that cover! These mini chocolate valentine cakes were made with my @nordicwareusa heart molds - not an ad, I just love everything Nordic Ware does.
